|Guatemalan Maya Cintas and Fajas plus Tibetan Yak Wool Belts
Both cintas and fajas are commonly referred to as sashes in Guatemala. They are usually back-strap woven and most are village specific. The primary use of the cinta is as a hair ribbon. The faja is actually a belt, worn wrapped, usually several times around the waist, securing the wrap-style skirt. Click here to shop cintas and fajas by village.
